Mankind

Probably my favorite painting!

I was definitely feeling some attitude about Men in general when I painted this.

Was shown at 'Tis Gallery spring 2012.

Hollie's Little Pony

When my granddaughter, Hollie, was a little girl, among her favorite toys were Little Ponys. That was my favorite "go to" gift for her. Sure to please. A couple years ago, as a young adult, she dug out some of her Little Ponys and transformed them into works of art. One of them was done with a "Starry, Starry Night" theme and returned to me as a gift. That totally delighted me, of course.

So this painting is for Hollie, and is naturally called "Hollie's Little Pony". It's a small painting and one of a series of horse paintings I've done this year.

Not for Sale!

Haboob

Haboob is the new designation for an Arizona dust storm. I'm not sure if New Mexico is adopting this terminology.
The Southwest Desert has some truly astounding dust storms. Having grown up in the Southwest, I'm a little conflicted about meteorologists deciding that "Dust Storm" just didn't do justice to the phenomenon. But nonetheless, when I finished this painting, it was hard to deny that it includes a haboob!

This work will be shown at 'Tis Gallery in Prescott Sept and Oct,  2012.
